Allow Ask Lex to make suggestions in the actual doc

Looking forward to this capability! I would like to accept/reject not only full sentence or paragraph suggestions made by Lex, but I'd also like to accept inline edits on individual words or phrases.
Ideally the suggested edits would be highlighted, you hover over the highlight, and then click Accept or Reject. Just like in Google Docs.
Fred Rivett I know you can't promise timelines, but do you have a general idea such as 2025 or 2026?

Totally Anthony! I'm working on this currently, our first stab is to do this within Ask Lex as a comment (@Lex), as this is a narrower scope than trying to map AI suggestions across a whole document as we already know which part you're wanting to work on.
Step one was making it so you can just press cmd+k (or ctrl+k on windows) and type and it'll use that as an edit request for Ask Lex, that's just gone live.
Step two is improving this so we can show the same suggestions output in the comment view as we do in full Ask Lex sidebar.
We also want to pull context tags in here too, and allow you to jump from a comment chat into a full Ask Lex thread if it gets too long.
After that I'll start working on the apply button, so alongside copy you can click apply.
Once that's done then we'll look at improving the UI/UX of suggestions so they can actually show in the doc rather than just in a diff in the chat.
Once that works well for inline Ask Lex as a comment we'll look to implement this in the full Ask Lex chat too (just need to be confident in mapping AI suggestions to the right position, have ideas for this but is a wider scope than dealing with a small section).
Let me know if you've any thoughts on the above or any suggestions, might be something we're missing!

Hey Jessica! You're not missing anything on this, the features to generate suggestions are just super new and we haven't gotten around to implementing the ability for Lex to update the document itself yet. This is something we will introduce, I can't promise timelines but we'll definitely announce it on the newsletter when it's ready.
